Introduction Thirsk Rugby Club, affiliated to Yorkshire Rugby Football Union and English Rugby Football Union, established its junior section in February 2004. 2011-12 will be the eighth full season for the section. Further information including junior contact details can be found at www.thirskrufc.co.uk. Please register for an account on the site as we aim to make this our main method of communication for the 2011 2012 season. Training and home matches take place on the rugby field / grassed area at Thirsk Athletic Club on Newsham Road. 2. Membership cost The player(s) and one parent / guardian per family need to register as members of the section. Membership of the section includes membership of the rugby club. Membership of the section includes membership of TAC. Membership costs 35 per season for U7-U12 players, 40 per season for U13 U15 players and 5 per season for the parent / guardian. Parents / guardians do not need to pay the 5 if they are already members of TAC. 3. Timings Training starts at 10:30am on Sundays, finishing at 11:30am for age groups U12 down and 12:00noon for age groups U13 up. Matches are organised to start at the same times whether home or away, this normally means a 09:30am departure from TAC to reach away venues on time. 4. Training / Home Matches Please ensure you drop your child off with one of your year group coaches / team managers in order for their attendance to be registered. Players should not start training / playing until they have been noted on the attendance register. Please arrange to pick up your child at the appropriate finishing time. Parents / guardians should always be contactable and available to care for their child should this be necessary. Please note that some home matches are also played at Thirsk School on Topcliffe Road. 5. Away Matches For away matches we rely upon parents to volunteer to drive players to the venue. We try to organise this the week before any away match. In some circumstances coach transport will be organised by the club, for which a donation is needed. 5. Catering / kit shop Drinks and food are available from 10:30am in the clubhouse for parents / guardians wishing to take a few minutes break or to meet other parents / guardians for a chat after dropping their child off for training. The bar is open from 12:00noon. Drinks and food is provided free of charge for the players after home (and usually away) matches. The kit shop is available from 10:30am in the clubhouse. All parents / guardians who wish to take photographs need to complete the section on the membership form so they can be recorded and identified. This is to ensure that there is no one taking photographs that shouldnt. Anyone found to be taking photographs without having completed a form may be requested to leave the grounds. 8.
