It is very important that Club members and visitors are mindful that the Club is in the middle of a small village, that we are tenants and not owners of the Meads and its car park and that we act accordingly. Relationships between the Club and the Chipstead Residents Association are good and it is essential that everything is done to maintain that position both in terms of considerate on-street parking and our dealings with questions and issues raised by residents on match days. Car Parking Marshals There will be a rota of car parking marshals from the Mini/Junior section for each Sunday when there is training and/or matches on the Meads. On each occasion, there will be 6 marshals, wearing reflective jackets, to supervise parking and advise drivers. Their deployment is set out in the Guidance for Car Parking Marshals document. The marshals will be supplemented on certain Sundays by representatives of the local police force. Set out below are the areas where parking is and is not permitted lt is recognised by the Club that neither the marshals nor the coning of certain areas have any legally enforcible power and all such actions are on an informal basis relying on the good will and co-operation of Club members and visitors. Where parking is permissible 1. The Meads Car Park (ie the car park adjacent to the Club House) When visiting teams are present, visiting players will be encouraged to use this car park and home players are to find alternative parking in locations other than "Where parking is not permissible" see below. The manager of each Chipstead RFC team which is playing or training and who is carrying kit/equipment will be allowed to park along the top hedge of the car park (adjacent to the pond) provided they arrive in good time. Space will be provided for the Chipstead Bowls Club if they are playing and in respect of any functions at the Peter Aubertin Hall. Access must be provided to users of the playground and the recycling bins. At the published kick-off time, any available spaces will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis 2. Elsewhere Drivers not able to park in the Meads car park should park southwards on the main road towards the Chipstead FC ground. Visitors will be advised by the car parking marshals on this point. Where parking is not permissible 1. General Across driveways and at road junctions 2. Coned areas. Certain areas will be coned off and must be avoided. These are (a) On both sides of the High Road from the Elmore Road/Castle Road junction northwards to its junction with Hazlewood Lane. (b) On the White Hart side of the High Road northwards to its junction with Starrock Lane. (c) Outside Shabden cottages and south to the point where the road widens. (d) ln the small road behind the White Hart which joins the High Road with Hazlewood Lane. 3. Not coned areas Other areas will not be coned off but must also be avoided. These are (a) ln front of Peter Aubertin Hall (In Elmore Road) (b) The White Hart car park (c) The gravelled area immediately adjacent to the Clubhouse It is essential that this area is kept clear to allow ambulance access should it be necessary. Visitors will be advised by the car parking marshals on this point. And finally, Car sharing Whenever possible, whether you are a Chipstead RFC member or a visitor, please aim to make car sharing arrangements to reduce the number of cars we have to deal with.
