Payment of Subscription 1.1 The annual subscription shall be payable by Full Members, Vice Presidents, Social Members and Junior Members at the rate set by the Executive Committee. 1.2 The annual subscription shall be payable from 30 June and, in any event, by 30 September in each year. 1.3 The Membership Secretary, following consultation with the prospective Member and the relevant Team Captain, has the power to calculate, pro rata, the subscription payable for any Member who is admitted after 31 October in any year. 1.4 Where payment is made by instalments, the subscription must be paid monthly in accordance with any agreement entered into and calculated in accordance with the appropriate rate. 1.5 Should a Member, by agreement with the delegated person responsible (as approved by the Executive Committee), elect to pay his/her annual subscription by way of instalment payments and should he/she thereafter default in any one payment and remain in default thirty days after due date of such instalment or resign his/her membership, then he/she shall be liable to pay immediately the full balance outstanding of his/her annual subscription together with any other charges incurred in obtaining the instalment facility and, if in default as indicated above, the Executive Committee may terminate such MemberТs membership. 1.6 Where payment is to be made by instalments then, subject to the delegated person responsibleТs consent, all payments must be made either by direct debit or standing order on a monthly basis. Any dispute will be heard by the General Committee. 2. Match Fees 2.1 Where relevant, a match fee shall be paid by team Members immediately after each match, to cover match expenses. The amount of the match fee shall be decided by the Playing Committee and ratified by the Executive Committee. 3. Guests 3.1 Members may introduce and entertain guests at the Club. The introducee Member shall be responsible for the guest(s) strictly observing the Rules and Regulations and must not leave the Club premises before the guest(s). The Executive Committee may suspend any Member who takes undue advantage of this privilege to the detriment of the Club. No person whose membership has been terminated or whose application for membership of the Club has ever been rejected shall at any time be introduced as a guest. 4. Addresses of Members and Notices 4.1 Each Member shall inform the Executive Committee of his/her address or change of address. Notices required by these Rules and Regulations to be given to Members may be given either by pre-paid letter addressed to a Member at the last address he/she furnished to the Executive Committee or by exhibiting such a notice in a prominent place in the Club premises and on the ClubТs website. 5. Tournaments and Exhibitions 5.1 On the occasion of an organised tournament or exhibitions, persons invited by the Executive Committee, persons accompanying them and bona fide spectators may be admitted to the privileges of day membership for those occasions provided that: a. no person admitted to the Club by virtue of this Rule shall be entitled to take part in the management of the Club nor shall they be able to introduce guests; b. persons admitted to the Club under this Rule shall be subject to the same Rules and Regulations as Members of the Club; c. such organised tournament or exhibition shall be sanctioned by the Executive Committee. 6. Intoxicating Liquor 6.1 The sale or supply of intoxicating Liquor in the Club shall be permitted within the general licensing hours approved by the MagistratesТ Court for the district in which the Club premises are situated and the bar opening hours shall be fixed by the Business Committee and ratified by the Executive Committee. Intoxicating Liquor shall be sold only in accordance with the terms and conditions (if any) imposed by the JusticesТ Licence granted in respect of the Club premises. 6.2 The Executive Committee will delegate to the Vice Chairman (Business) responsibility for the appointment of a Bar Manager. This employee will be responsible for the purchase and sale of alcohol for the Club. The Bar Manager will be responsible for ensuring the ClubТs adherence to the requirements of the Licensing Acts. 7. Gaming Machines 7.1 The management and operation of any gaming machines in respect of which the Club is registered under Part III of the Gaming Act, 1968 or any statutory enactment or modifications thereof shall be in the hands of a Gaming Committee. 7.2 The Gaming Committee shall consist of not less than five Members, all of whom shall be elected by the Members of the Club at a General Meeting of the Club. 7.3 No person shall be permitted to remove any money, other than money delivered by the machine or as part of a prize in respect of a game played by means of the machine, unless he/she is duly authorised by the Gaming Committee. 7.4 Separate accounts shall be kept by the Club in relation to the management and operation of any gaming machines on the premises and in relation to the proceeds of any such machines. 7.5 The proceeds of any such gaming machines shall after deduction of expenses directly related to the said machines, be used solely for the benefit of the Members of the Club. 7.6 The precise way in which any such proceeds shall from time to time be applied pursuant to the foregoing sub-paragraphs shall be decided by the Gaming Committee and such decisions shall be communicated to the Executive Committee which shall thereafter be bound to give effect to it. 8. Selection 8.1 The Selection Sub-Committee shall strictly comprise of the Team Captains and Team Manager (where appointed), or with an invited guest. The Selection Sub-Committee shall be overseen by the Vice Chairman (Playing), with delegation passed to Chair of Selection appointed by the Vice Chairman (Playing). The Vice Chairman (Playing) will be responsible for ensuring that selection procedures are overseen so as to ensure only qualified Club members are selected and that no Club member is treated in any detrimental manner. 8.2 The Selection Sub-Committee shall convene each Tuesday evening and again on Thursday evening to finalise team selection. 8.3 The determination of the ClubТs overall selection policy shall be the responsibility of the Playing Committee but subject to overall scrutiny for governance by the Executive Committee and the Selection Sub-Committee shall be responsible for the implementation of that policy and for individual selection decisions. 8.4 The general selection policy shall be that the best XVs available be selected. Non-availability in one week will NOT automatically result in demotion in the next week, as levels of non-availability will necessarily influence the selection process. 8.5 Paid-up Members shall be selected. No player, not having commenced payment of his/her annual subscription by the end of September, will be considered for selection. 9. Vice Captains 9.1 The Team Captains may appoint Vice Captains who will stand as full Deputies for the Team Captains in their absence. 10. Loss or Damage to Property 10.1 All lost property on the premises shall be handed into the Bar Manager. Lost property will be disposed of after one month. 10.2 The ClubТs liability for damage or lost MembersТ property is strictly limited to any damage or loss suffered as a result of the negligence of the Club, its staff or its agents. With this exception, the Club will not accept liability for the safety of MembersТ personal property brought on to the Club site unless these are handed in to the Bar Manager for safe keeping and a signed receipt is given. Property left in the changing rooms is left at the ownerТs risk and no liability will be accepted by the Club. Cars parked in the Club car park or elsewhere on the premises of the Club and all contents in them, are left on the site of the Club at the ownerТs risk and the Club will accept no liability whatsoever in respect of them. 11. Alterations to the Constitution 11.1 Alterations to the ClubТs Constitution may only be made by consent of the majority of eligible voting members at an Annual or Special General Meeting, and such proposals must be notified to the Club Secretary at least twenty-one days in advance of such a meeting. 12. Alteration of Rules and Regulations 12.1 The Executive Committee may from time to time revoke, vary, add to or alter the Rules and Regulations of the Club provided that revocation, variation, addition or alteration is not inconsistent with any term or condition imposed by the Registration Certificate granted in respect of the Club premises and shall, if necessary, obtain the prior approval of the JusticesТ before such revocation, variation, addition or alteration shall take effect. 12.2 The Executive Committee shall be the sole authority for interpreting the Rules and Regulations or any Byelaws settling all disputes relating to the affairs of the Club and the conduct of Members or temporary Members.
